Dress Code
For this particular league, there is no specific dress code required. We do, however, encourage you to make every effort to dress as best as you can, in order to represent our sport in a respectful manner. Besides, many players have said that they believe that there is a correlation between the way a player dresses and the way that player performs. We tend to agree.
Scheduled Matches
Out of respect to your opponents, we ask that you kindly show up to all your matches on time. If for whatever reason there is an issue, please make the effort to reach out to whomever you may be playing to let them know about the circumstances.
Snooker Practice
All players will be allowed a period of 5 minutes before their match for practice.
RULES of the game
The Canadian Snooker League shall be played under the conditions approved by Snooker Canada and under the rules of the game as published by World Snooker. (www.worldsnooker.com)
Cue ball fouls only
Due to the fact that your matches will not have an official referee, a foul can only be called with regards to the cue ball. This means that when a player accidentally touches the cue ball with anything other than the tip of the cue, a foul should be assessed.
The miss rule
While the “foul and a miss” rule has unlimited put backs in the professional game, the policy for Snooker Canada events is to have a maximum of 3 put backs. This means that if a player misses the intended ball completely, the cue ball can be put back to its original spot for a maximum of 3 times.
Conceding a frame
If a player does not have enough points to win a frame and requires MORE THAN 3 snookers, that player automatically concedes and loses the frame.
Player's Responsibilities
Snooker Canada is not responsible for any form of damages to players, delegates, referees or guests before, during and after any Snooker Canada event for any reason whatsoever.
